“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it my own yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14 AMP
I like to invite you today to just press on. God is faithful to empower you to stand strong and victorious and not to be defeated. Remember Jesus is victorious over satan, he is victorious over death, hell and the grave. This is good news for us. If we have accepted Jesus Christ into our hearts then we too can walk on victory. When the bills are paid, when there's money in the bank, when there’s plenty to laugh and be happy about, Do you remember to say Thank you, Lord? I know where you brought me from, I remember when it wasn’t like this. But, how about you’re struggling? Work is tough, or the business isn’t performing well and you have big problems after problems. Do you still say Thank you, Lord .
We might be hard pressed on every side, but we are not crushed, we may be perplexed, but we are not in despair. Persecuted, but not forsaken. We might be struck down, but not destroyed. In Acts 16 Paul and Silas they didn’t see the prison they were in. They didn’t focus on the guards, the chains or the fact that they were uncomfortable. They focus on God. “But about midnight when Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; suddenly there was a great earthquake, so [powerful] that the very foundations of the prison were shaken and at once all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were unfastened.” Acts 16:25-26 AMP As we praise and thank God in advance, we will experience a sudden movement in our situation when things will turn around. Let’s be thankful regardless of what you are facing today. How can we not thank the Lord? We are living, healthy, we are of a sound mind, we are blessed to have a family, blessed to have food on my plate, and a home. Everything is not perfect, but today readers, be thankful and continue to press on with your best praise to God. We should be believers who rejoice and Thank God Almighty, through the good and bad. Sure, the car was lost, but I thank you for having a mouth to praise God, a mouth to sing hymns of just Praise. Maybe, you lost your job, but you still have your health. Maybe you can’t afford luxurious dining, but thank God you have never missed a meal. “O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His compassion and loving kindness endure forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from trouble,” Psalms 107:1-2 AMP if you’re in a situation that seems hopeless, you do not have to despair, you don’t have to lose heart because God has the power to grant you victory. Today, I like to invite you to give thanks to the Lord and to praise and sing hymns to the Lord. O God of my praise! Thank you.
